International Friendly. England vs Hungary, 12th September 1990. Paul Gascoigne #8 Match Worn Home Shirt.

51.499 people turned up for Graham Taylors first match as the new England manager. This was Englands first international after the heartbreaking defeat to Germany on penalties at the FIFA World Cup 1990 in Italy.

England won the game 1-0 and had two goals disallowed. Gary Lineker celebrated becoming the new England captain with the only goal of the game, assisted by Gazza.

This was also the match for Gazza’s famous ‘smelling the referees armpit’ moment that is well known by all Gazza Lovers. Hilarious.
